Do something that you enjoy

You will get the best results from exercise if you do something that you enjoy. There’s no point signing up to an expensive gym class when you dread attending each week. It can be as simple as a brisk walk each evening or a swimming at your local pool. If it gets boring, alternate between activities to keep it fun.

Try to incorporate more exercise into your everyday routine

With hectic lifestyles, it can be difficult to find the time to exercise. Why not ditch the car 2 days a week and walk to work? Small changes can make a big difference to our health.

Set some goals

Being active is much easier when you want to reach specific goals. If you want to increase your walking distance, improve your overall fitness or reduce your cholesterol, setting goals can be just the push you need.

Make it social

Not only is excessing key to improving physical health, it can be a great way to improve mental health. Join a walking club or go running with a friend, this way you can encourage each other to reach your goals.

Join a fitness event

Whether it’s a community sponsored walk or mini marathon, using an activity event can be a great fitness milestone to work towards. Sign up regularly to free activities in your area to maintain motivation and improve overall health along the way.
