Fast, expert care from your local pharmacist — when it’s safe and appropriate to do so.
The Common Conditions Service allows trained pharmacists to assess and treat a range of everyday minor health conditions, helping you access timely care while ensuring your safety always comes first.
This service is designed for specific, suitable conditions only and includes clear referral to your GP or hospital when needed.
The Common Conditions Service is a pharmacist-led clinical service delivered under nationally approved HSE clinical protocols.
Under this service, trained pharmacists can assess your symptoms, decide whether the service is safe and appropriate for you, prescribe prescription-only medication where clinically appropriate, provide self-care advice, or refer you to your GP or hospital if further care is needed.
The service is designed to support GP care, not replace it.

Submitting the pre-screening questionnaire does not guarantee treatment.
The Common Conditions Service is a private consultation service. The consultation fee will be explained to you before you proceed.
If medicine is supplied, it may be covered under your Medical Card, Drugs Payment Scheme (DPS), or Long Term Illness Scheme (LTI), where applicable.
Not all conditions or patients will be suitable for this service.
You will only be treated under the Common Conditions Service when it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so. If your symptoms fall outside the service criteria, your pharmacist will advise you on the most appropriate next step.
